Going casual for a cause

FPC staff going casual for a cause

Every Friday, the FPC’s head office staff go casual for a cause, raising over $3,000 in the last two years for various Western Australian charities and organisations.

Casual Friday has been an institution at the FPC’s head office, and staff frequently nominate charities for inclusion, with a new charity selected at the start of each month.

Some of the charities supported in recent times include:

  • Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation;
  • RSPCA;
  • Princess Margaret Hospital for Children;
  • Father Chris Riley’s Youth off the Streets; and
  • Motor Neurone Disease Association of WA.

One of this year’s larger events was for the Cancer Council of WA, where the staff banded together for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea. Over $800 was raised from the event thanks to the donation of items from various staff members which were sold in a silent auction.

The Cancer Council is a charity dear to the staff members’ hearts, as a number of them have been personally affected by the disease, both as survivors of the disease which kills more than 39,000 people annually, and those who have lost family members and loved ones.
