Feedback and complaints

The Forest Products Commission recognises the important role that feedback from our customers and the people of Western Australia plays in achieving our mission of growing a sustainable and prosperous forest industry for the future wellbeing of all.

You can submit your feedback or make a complaint to the FPC in a number of ways.

Informal feedback

This is usually the best way to contact us with concerns or issues you feel we need to address.

You can contact or visit any of our offices, or send us an email where you’ll be put in touch with the most appropriate person who can deal with and respond to your concerns.

Community consultation and public comment

Forestry plays an important role in a number of regional communities. Our activities need to be managed to reduce environmental, social and economic impacts on surrounding areas.

As good neighbours, we will frequently engage in dialogue through community forums either organised by or attended by our staff, as well as advertising public comment periods on our harvesting plans and other activities where appropriate.

Feedback and input gained through these efforts is relayed to the appropriate areas of our business to ensure community concerns are addressed and effectively managed.

Formal feedback and complaints

If, after contacting us informally, your concerns have not been satisfactorily resolved, or if your feedback or complaint is of a more serious matter, then we encourage you to provide us with formal feedback.

Formal feedback should always be submitted using our feedback and complaints form, and can be delivered to us in person, by mail, facsimile or as an email attachment.

The FPC will provide an acknowledgment of your feedback within 10 days of it being received.

Western Australian Ombudsman

If you’re not satisfied with the outcome after providing FPC with formal feedback, then you may raise the matter with the Western Australian Ombudsman.

The Ombudsman is independent and impartial, and investigates complaints from individuals about Western Australian Government agencies, statutory authorities, local governments and public universities. The Ombudsman also has the authority to initiate an enquiry or investigation into any of these public bodies, even when no specific complaint has been received.

You can contact the Western Australian Ombudsman on (08) 9220 7555 or Freecall 1800 117 000
