SANDALWOOD

Research into planting Sandalwood on cleared farmland has gained momentum over the past 12 years, to the point where the Forest Products Commission is now confident it can be grown commercially on farms.

Sandalwood is a strong export earner for Western Australia and plantations are being established on a small scale to supplement the native Western Australian sandalwood.
