CORPORATE INVESTORS
The FPC offers its expertise to corporate investors to identify, establish and manage commercial plantations, which not only offer financial benefits but which represent ethical and responsible investment opportunities.
The FPC’s strengths are:
- a proven track record as a plantation grower and manager for large international investors;
- involvement in the whole forest products value chain from breeding, to all aspects of growing, harvesting and marketing the end product;
- confidence that environmental outcomes are based on strong science;
- a proven carbon modelling (accounting?) system particularly in maritime pine;
- willingness and ability to develop a project that individually meets investors needs; and
- its products are grown, extracted and developed in an environmental sustainable manner. Its operations are certified under EMS ISO 14001 and FPC is working towards achieving Australian Forestry Standard (AFS) accreditation.
The FPC’s track record can be demonstrated through the pioneering development of the bluegum (Eucalyptus globulus) industry in the 1980s, which now covers more than 250 thousand hectares and delivers significant economic and social benefits to Western Australia.
The FPC currently manages Commonwealth Securities’ Premium Plantations 2005/06 on a fee-for-service basis and has a long standing partnering arrangement with BP Kwinana Refinery in planting pines and other species in Katanning and Mt Barker with the twin goals to offset land degradation and carbon emissions.
