Environmental Performance
The Forest Products Commission (FPC) has whole-of-agency certification to ISO14001:2004, the international standard for environmental management systems. Based on this certification, the FPC was a finalist in the 2007 State Environment Awards, in the category of ‘Government leading by example’.
Full certification enables the FPC to clearly and publicly demonstrate ongoing commitment at all levels – operations, research, human resources management and administration - to protecting Western Australia’s unique environment. To maintain certification, the FPC must demonstrate a systemic approach to continuous improvement, consistently addressing issues at the root cause.
The FPC reports annually on its compliance with the provisions of the Forest Management Plan 2004-2013 and subsidiary management guideline documents by FPC staff and contractors. The report only covers those actions for which the FPC is responsible.
