  • Manages the seeding, harvesting and marketing of State-owned timber plantations.
  • Works in partnership with WA farmers to manage the seeding, harvesting and marketing of tree crop farms on private land.
  • Invests significant dollars in the research and development of various tree species within our designated Seed Technologies Centre.
  • Carefully assesses potential timber crop locations prior to seeding, to ensure the timber species selected is compatible, and will offer the most economical and environmentally efficient return.
  • Establishes millions of seedlings in our Manjimup Nursery for future tree crops.
  • Investigates and promotes value-adding opportunities for the WA timber industry.
  • Markets the uniqueness, quality and diverse uses of WA timbers ie in pharmaceutical products, flooring, export furniture.
  • Specifically focuses on the establishment and expansion of timber crops in low rainfall areas to address environmental problems.
  • Identifies new timber cells (locations) that will provide improved commercial, social and environmental opportunities.
